A Overview of The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas
There are many subplots relating to the Count of Monte Cristo's adversaries. The
first one started out in Rome where in fact the count met two teenagers, Albert de
Morcerf and Franz d'Epinay. The Count started to be an excellent friend to both young men
and even saved Albert's lifestyle when the "Italian bandit," Luigi Vampa,
captured him. Thankfully Vampa was a faithful good friend to the count and obeyed his
command to release Albert. Albert eventually presented the count to Paris
society also to his many friends. Another subplot was when The Count of Monte
Cristo bought the residence in Auteuil. His servant Bertuccio experienced a history with
that house that engaged Monsieur de Villefort. He soon after told that report to the
count and introduced Benedetto, which in the future became Andrea Cavalcanti. Benedetto
was the son of Villefort and Madame Danglars, that was presumed dead and was
burried and left to die if Bertuccio didn't dig the infant up. Benedetto later
led a lifestyle of crime and kept Bertuccio, who brought up him. Another subplot was
when Benedetto was launched to the Count of Monte Cristo as Andrea
